The Sims Furni

I know yuo can download furniture, to add to the sims. But, once youve downloaded it, where does it go? And where do you put it, so that it works and you can buy it

You download it to a certain file which you can choose yourself.
You should download your downloads for the sims to
C:\Documents and Settings\****\My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Downloads

Is it sims 1 or 2 btw?
If its one, in the maxis/sims/w.e there should be a downloads folder there. If theres not, make it and put your files in there. Make sure they are unzipped into that folder.

You can download furniture and stuff when you are actually playing the Sims and all, thats what I normally do, I think there is an option when your on the neighborhood.

Yeah but thats only objects on the actual Sims 2 site, and them objects suck

You can download meshes and stuff on fan sites for furniture.
