    Default AllHabbo.com - GET YOUR OWN IDEAS!

    Hey,

    I'm one of the four owners of Bobble FM, also known as the founder. I am very irritated when people take things and put them onto their own websites. I'm even more annoyed when they tell everyone that they created the feature which they've ripped.

    Ultimative and icebox12, the two owners of allhabbo.com refuse to admit they have 'ripped' part of our idea and a lot of our markup.

    --

    If you are a fan of the Habbo fansite, allhabbo.com, you will probably know what their allPOD is.

    A few weeks ago, BobbleFM.co.uk re-opened. Instead of a usual radio player with the usual controls, we (Bobble FM) decided to use images for the play/stop/mute buttons.

    This is how we put the mute button together.
    PHP Code:
    <a href="#" onfocus="this.blur()" onclick="var muted = bobblefm.settings.mute; if (muted == true){ bobblefm.settings.mute = false; }else{ bobblefm.settings.mute = true; }"><img src="images/lyv4f/mute.PNG" border="0" id="mute" onclick="muteit()" alt="Mute/Unmute" onmouseover="this.className='onovercontrols'" onmouseout="this.className=''" /></a
    Thomas (Scimu) put this together for us. I added some CSS so that when you rollover the button it will lose some of its opacity. I did this with onmouseover="this.className='onovercontrols'" onmouseout="this.className=''".

    You can see this class stated in our stylesheet (http://www.bobblefm.co.uk/stylelyv4f_red.css), it looks like this:
    Code:
     .onovercontrols {
    	opacity:.5;
    	filter:alpha(opacity=50);
    }
    OK. So that's our code covered. Now, let's take a look at allhabbo.com's 'allPOD'. They have a mute button too. It can be seen at http://www.allhabbo.com/player.php

    The code for their mute button is:

    Code:
    <a href="#" onfocus="this.blur()" onclick="var muted = allPOD.settings.mute; if (muted == true){ allPOD.settings.mute = false; }else{ allPOD.settings.mute = true; }"><img src="images/mute.png" alt="Mute" width="20" height="20"  border="0" onmouseover="this.className='onovercontrols'" onmouseout="this.className=''" /></a>
    This looks very similar to Bobble FM's, yeah?

    Now take a look into the image tag. Just like Bobble FM's, they've got onmouseover="this.className='onovercontrols'" onmouseout="this.className=''".

    Allhabbo.com had forgotten to remove these two statements when they were 'ripping' us. How can I proove this?

    First of all, the class onovercontrols hasn't even been set in their stylesheet. Second of all, nothing happens when you roll your mouse over any of the buttons on the allPOD.

    --

    I know this might seem a bit silly, but I do get extremely irritated when people take MY work and say it's THEIRS.

    Ultimative wouldn't even let me speak to him when I approached him to ask if he did take it from us. He told me he thought Bobble FM was a load of rubbish.

    The only reason why I am only commenting on the mute button is because it's the most obvious rip of the lot. The play and stop/pause buttons were also taken from us, but they wasn't as easy to proove.

    Also, the 'resizable iframe' first appeared on Bobble FM. I have no right to say that I own the 'resizable iframe', because I certainly do not. But what irritated me even more was when Ultimative told me to get my own ideas and that we had taken the iframe off ClubHabbo. I'm sure that even SkaterChu himself would admit he got the idea from us.

    I'm fed up of Habbo fansite owners like these! If you're going to own a Habbo fansite, make it YOUR fansite, not a duplicate of someone elses.

    What do you have to say?

    Regards,
    Oli

    I'm fine with the idea. It's like evolution, but the fittest fansites pass on their... ideas? Heh.

    I'm more bothered about the coding. However, it's annoying when you see your idea appear on more and more fansites and you get nothing in return.

    Weird as HabboRemix had all of this a long time ago, before your site had it. So does that incidently mean you ripped from them?

    I don't deal with the coding of the site, thats Greg. So before you go around saying "you stole our coding", get your facts straight. I highly doubt you INVENTED this code, as it's no doubtfully used on more than "just" habbo fansites. So before you go around claiming you created this, please stop embarassing yourself.

    I didn't invent it, and I got the idea from HabboRemix. However, you told me that you had it months ago. If you've read what I've said above, then you'll probably recognize that Greg has ripped it.

    Your fansite has stolen our code, and that's a fact, a 'straight fact'. If you're going to use the idea, there are probably better methods of doing it, so why did Grge have to rip us rather than writing his own?

    Sorry, but it is very irritating...

    EDIT: Funninly enough I didn't use a tutorial for that =/ Panther, earlier I assisted you and now you're telling me to shut up? And icebox, isn't it annoying? That's more of an 'obvious rip', but it's still annoying eh?
