Well today i came out of my "shell" and asked this chick to be my girlfriend. Before I asked her I bought some flowers. I should of thought of what to say before asking her but me being stupid i didn't. So I got "turned down", what a feeling that was :~(!! But we are still friends.

Well I bet you at least feel better that you asked rather than pondering about it all your life and regretting not asking, not knowing what her answer would've been.
At least now you know, and your both still the same friends so you've not lost nor gained anything.
