No way, I lvled mine from 1 to like 56 (level for high alch) and my combat didnt raise at all.

it depends what ur cb lvl is..
if ur lvl 3..
lvling mage will level ur combat at about 5..
if ur lvl 110
mage wont level u till ur like 90? :S

well atm on my pure, im 16 mage, 10 cmbt :s

Estimation lvl 70 magic=lvl 30-40 cmbt

Then it'll go up about every 2-3-4 Magic levels if you're getting HP up aswell.
