I like a bit of it. E.g. Animosity, As Blood Runs Black, August Burns Red and Bless The Fall.

Also love the more mainstream type bands, Alexisonfire, Underoath, 36 Crazyfists etc etc...

Spuddee you're an idiot to be blunt. You think you make up what band is in what genre and who can reply to this topic. Firstly that 'its_ree_!!' member person can post if she wants, she has stated she doesn't like it so leave her and her opinion alone. Although I disagree with her opinion very highly, doesn't mean she isn't entitled to her opinion. Secondly, just because a band appears on a tv programme or what not doesn't stop them from being a certain genre, I mean funeral for a friend are pretty emo/post-hardcore if you ask me so don't go judging it on what they play on. That's like saying Lily Allen isn't pop because she's played on a music channel.........stupid.

And yeah I like emo music, more a fan of screamo and metalcore though. Metalcore is IMMENSE and I recommend the genre, although screamo is also good. I have some screamo bands that are my favourite, one being underOATH [Yes even though they are mainstream, I liked them before they were] and a couple of others.
    yes blud

To be honest who cares what is "emo" and what is not? All the labels now are so stupid.
Next match: Ipswich (H) Sunday 4th November, 12.45pm.

I think the whole anti-mainstream thing is pointless. Who cares if a band is on a rich record label or not? If I had a band I'd jump at the chance to join a high-quality label, that doesn't mean that the band gets any worse necessarily.

srsly dude! i listen to as much mainstream as the next person i mean ffs i am a huugue misfits fan and that band is so sold out that it isn't real.

my problem is one of the msot amazing genres ever has been ruined by the mainstream labelling bubblegun pop-punk bands with its name, which when you like a genre can be quiiiiite annoying! so is asking if anyone listens to the original stuff a crime? if it is then hang me pleeeease.

and for anyone who says emo's moved on... yes it has, just not to what you think it has.

oh bobba no! some person on an internetsss forum doesn't like me, my life cannot go on i must become a true emosss and lsiten to MCR and cut zomg.

i never said i was individual, wondering if there's anyone who isn't in the mainstreams complete influence, ya know.

yeah everyone's calling DCFC emo all of a sudden which is prettyyy laughable... and SDRE rule man.

it's amazing you people are soooooooo argumentative that if i ask if anyone's heard of a genre i'm a self loving idiot, coz if that's your opinion and you want to challenge me for knowing something you probably don't, areen't you pretty up yourself? ooo the contradtictions!
You're the idiot. You sound like a **** who thinks you know so much about music. Stop trying to proove everyone else wrong and grow up. You're the arguementative one and it's doing everyone's head in so shut up.
