What should I be training on?

Hey.. I'm cb 45, atk 40, str 39, def 35.

I've been told to train on rock crabs but they're pretty easy and was wondering if there was any 30-40 monsters which give good xp.

Also I need recommendations on what weapons to use and what to wear to get defence up as my friend is giving me his full rune once I get def 40.

Rock crabs are still your best chance, you can try experiments but they drop nowt.
