If you will never trust him then whats the point in being "safe" with him?
I seriously doubt he'll get the police involved, how many people a day do you think get hit/beaten up in England? And how many people a day do you think call the police when they get hit? Not many.
If you want to hit him, then why not? He hit you, its called revenge mate. While you are doing it you'll get an adrenaline feeling and you'll feel good. In the long term you might regret it but you only live once. I say you deck him.
Also it carnt be too bad, people on your estate won't think your a chicken.
On the otherhand, there's always the chance he'll get you back, and get some mates with him too. You need to think about what your going to do mate. And as somebody else said, the old bill could get involved very easily, especially if you leave him for dead in the street.
When you fight and when your angry, you won't stop untill you realy hurt/kill the lad so choose wisely.

I hope you choose what will benefit in the long run.

Im going to sort it out but im not going to go out of my way to find him if you know what i mean... If i see him then i see him.
