Wi-fi Pokemon Diamond

Just got my diamond off ebay and its a usa version, does everyone in the uk who has the game have a us one aswell seeing as its not out here yet?
and my wi-fi isnt working so if u do have a us game and are using wi-fi in uk what adapter are you using?
Also do i need to register my location for it to work first?

I use official Nintendo one, I doubt it matters you've probably set it up wrong or something, my diamond is US but I like in UK so it doesn't matter where you live and I never registered my location
