Alright, Post reports is a good idea. But I still hope applications will come out later, so I can apply. Reports aren't geting me anywhere, at the moment. Don't quote me on this.![]()
i'm out of touch, i'm out of love
i'll pick you up when you're getting down
and out of all these things i've done
i think i love you better now
Lol -quotedWell it maybe the quality of posts you are reporting rather than the quantity. Pm one of the Smods or the FM. they may be able to help =]
Some very good points made in this thread I must sayHow are applications more fair than recommendations? When you send in an application you can lie about everything and get a trial.
Nobody is striking or threatening to strike.
And since when do you need to be good at writing to moderate a forum?
Reporting posts and behaving well is basically a long trial. If you can't do that then you shouldn't even try to become a mod.
MAD will look more into the recommendations to make sure those people didn't behave bad on other accounts and all that kind of stuff. It's not like you get hired when 3 people recommend you.
So writing that you would be a good mod is better than reporting posts and helping other members which shows you would be a good mod? I don't think so.
Trials have nothing to do with it, people who get recommended will be looked at too, all mods are being watched. All new mods have to get used to the tools, I don't see how getting recommended or sending an application would help you to get used to them.
I don't think the forum is going down, it's still running smoothly. The only thing that changed is that people like Catzsy and Dan are no longer part of the team and some people don't like that.
I'll finish with some facts to back up my points about recommendations..
Months ago when applications were open every week 5 people would get a mod trial based on their application, 12 or 13 people out of the 15 people with a trial failed. Today people get mod jobs based on their behavior and post reports and on recommendations, they all pass.+rep.
Before promoting people to Smod we want to check they have enough time to cope with the demanding job and off course be able to do the job itself in the first place.
