I don't know what to say, really. Most of the conspiracy theories are so amazingly tempting. If you watch a few videos, you just can't help being slightly swayed. And if you read up on it, it just so happens that an airplane had before crashed into the tower. The tower didn't collapse or anything. All that happened was a bit of a fire that lasted only hours. To my knowledge, no extreme damage was done and the wreckage was easily repaired and cleaned up.

I believe it's no different with the 9/11 attacks.. just an airplane, why did it cause such extreme damage and actually manage to get the towers to fall? To be honest, the entire 'flashes before hits' thing really catches your eye. I watched a video on youtube (don't have the link - sorry!) and in it it zoomed in, you could see little flashes from a "helicopter" and then the entire tower fell. In another shot, you could see two little holes on the belly of the helicopter. Little flashes were shot from here. Is this natural for all helicopters? I really don't know.

But, I guess I could just say, I'm not extremely educated on the entire subject, but I have done plenty of research on conspiracy theories. I'm swayed to believe that the government may have had a lot to do with it.

    but that's just my opinion.

So basically the tempreature which fuel burns at at the maximum, is not enough to melt steel. Or even weaken it, letalone create a big smouldering pile of rubble where the bottom was hotter than the reckage which had the fire??
    yeah. about that...

It makes me feel sick when I just see pictures, let alone videos of the towers ablaze, or even worse, when the plane is just about to impact the towers, it makes me feel really really really sick. At my old dentists office, he had a picture of the NYC skyline on his wall, with the twin towers still there, and even that made me shudder a little.
Humans naturally have something that makes you want to find out what ever happened, down to the last second.

    V. Interesting, But i second your post, but im british and have never been to america

I am sure, that there would be hundreds of tons of things that would have cought fire and burnt hot enough to melt steel etc...

Aviation Fule isn't like petrol or diesel, so people can't really compare :]

Also the fuel will just get hotter...hotter....and hotter still untill some kind of the support that the towers needed would have melted.

But the dark smoke showed that the fire was oxygen-starved, particularly in the South Tower.

But I still believe that the intense heat softened or melted the structural elements (floor trusses and columns, etc...) so that they became like chewing gum, and that was enough to trigger the collapse.

But if the fuel just got hotter til it collapsed, wouldn't that be just like the same in the previous airplane collisions? If it was truthfully like that, the towers would have fallen long ago when one airplane originally hit the tower.

But you've also got to take into account, what was in the offices where the plane hist, desks, chairs, computers, god knows what else. They would have all helped towards the collapse when they had cought fire.

As I said earlier in this thread,
only 3 skyscraper buildings have collapsed from a fire...
    world trade centre 1
    world trade centre 2
and worle trade centre 7 (the FBI Building to the right of the towers, real small building compared, covered the FBI's tracks).

Aviation fuel is not enough to bring down buildings that are designed to withstand all sorts to be ALLOWED to be put up in the middle of newyork, especially when the fire didn't even spread over that many floors compared to some sky scraper fires...
