Why *must* you play System Shock to e able to play this? It's only the gameplay that is similar... the story is completely new. This is set in a near-deserted underwater metropolis and System Shock is aboard a spaceship.

Personally since E3 last year this has been one of my most anticipated games. It looks beautiful and I can see some of the moral dilemmas it will put the player in really intense. Can't wait!

Oh fair enough if you want to see a part of Bioshock's heritage. But it just seems a bit superfluous to say you won't play Bioshock without playing System Shock. After all it's a spiritual successor and not a direct sequel, so there are going to be definite gameplay differences. Not to mention the original was released nearly 15 years ago, and 3D games have a tendancy not to age all that well.

If you want to know what's so good about the game, the best way to find out is just to play it!

Yea, I was still gonna play it but it's not out for a while yet and makes sense to try it out, and age isn't really that big of a deal, I play the original DOOM still and I enjoy it

The word on the BioShock forums is that it's also coming to MAC.

Though me doubts.
