So? If they cant abide by the rules then they deserve to be punished.

I think this should be implemented. If someone does something wrong, obviously he is less reputable, which should be reflected in the reputation system. The infraction system is mainly used by admins to give bans, and isn't really useful to punish a rule breaker.

Bloody hell this is an ONLINE FORUM.
Get over it for crying out loud.
This is a poor idea because:
A) Too much work for admin.
B) Why, as Catzsy said should members be penalised TWICE?
C) Those of you saying infractions dont matter, get a certain amount, get banned. So yeah infractions do matter to people.
Stop being so stupid and trying to put pathetic ideas into management's heads, wasting their time, when they could be doing something more useful.

I do agree that it would be a good idea. I see no problem with being penalised twice, because they're not really being, additionally some people don't care about infractions.
You know the saying, "Don't do the crime..."
However since there is no way to automate it, I don't think it can be done. The admin oversight is just too much.
It costs nothing to be a good friend.

Seems totaly pointless to me, if people are willing to risk getting banned there hardly gona give a crap about there rep points "/
ps: It would be a **** easy mod to write, just open up the file containing the add warning system , add in to the sql query the table for rep points, and then set the valud to - 10 of its current value or somthing like that. Then your done. Possibly add a second query to leave a not in the infraction history system if u want to as well. It only gets complex if you wana do it properly (no hard coded) so it can be edited and altered via the acp.
