    Default Eye Sight

I'm finding it increasingly hard to look at things which are about 6/7 metres away+, I have to really concentrate and it hurts my eyes a little bit. This mainly is difficult at school, looking at the board from mid-way or from the back of the class room. I think I should perhaps see the opticians, and it wouldn't surprise me if I needed glass's, plus my dad already does.

I don't want to tell anyone or go to the opticians since I might end up with glass's for seeing things far away. I really don't want glass's as they look silly. You could say what about contact lenses, but apperantly you have to wear glass's for a year first And you have to wait till your 18 for laser sergery...

Shall I just live with it? I doubt it's effecting my work yet, just hurts a little.

What would you do, and what do you suggest. Thanks

I have the same problem. But i do have glasses but I never wear them at school, its just the feeling when you first put them on you get some stupid name calls "/ Sometimes I wear them at home for the tv but that's about it.

Actually I asked my optician a couple weeks ago about laser eye surgery, and you've got to be 27 apparently.

I wear contacts all the time, then just glasses at night for watching tv etc. When I wore glasses I wasn't ever called any names. I didn't realise you had to wear glasses for a year before you could have contacts though. ;s

If you can't see the board at school, ask if you can sit near the front?

I'd go to the opticians if I were you though.

You should see your opticiant, i guess, and if you've got a small minus, then you only have to wear them for a certain time a day, eg. 4-5 hours, . so no need to wear them at school, when you're lucky.
i didin't know allso that you have to wear glasses for a year . Alltough, you have to be 18 to get laser surgery, but it's even better, whne your 20 or so, so your eyes are aren't developing(sp?) anymore

Hope it helps, even a bit.

I suppose there is three things:

    1. Don't wear the glasses, struggle seeing the board and may effect your work. May make your eyesight worse and cause headaches.
    2. Wear the glasses just when you need to see the board and then take them off so you aren't getting eyestrain and this means you're not wearing them permanently but I could see people noticing you more if you did this rather than just leaving them on all day.
    3. Deal with wearing the glasses for a year and then wear the contacts.

I'd choose which you think is best. Personally I'd pick option 2 but there is nothing wrong with the other two. It's what ever is comfortable and right for you.

If I was you, go to the Opticians. I wouldn't care what people say. If you like them, then its your opinion. To be honest, people who take the michael out of you, are just attention seekers.

Like I wore glasses a year or so back, I got called names. Basically told the attention seekers to get a life, and then it stopped.

    I hope this helps.
