Beleive it or not, I have a life outside this computer, which i'm probaly just as, or by the looks of your posts, even more intelligent, so don't bother calling me stupid - it just doesn't work. i wouldnt say MCR are pop-punk, but no way are they emo

i suppose they could fit into the pop-emo, coz even tho they arent emo, they are popular, and every new band seems to to be labelled emo, so its spawned the pop-emo.

MCR are known more than not by the kiddies as emo. You all listen to them, so you realise they aren't emo. But if you say name 4 emo bands what would it be?

I know some are screamo etc, and i understand dont worry, but others dont. Look outside the box and see that MCR are stereotyped as emo, which means they must have a couple of emo qualities if they are so widely recognised as emo.

I don't want to argue with you guys, but my mind isn't changing about emo, I seriously hate everything about it, I know a lot of emos are nice people, but I just can't like anything that is keeping that group going.

Though the band disapproved of the term, they are credited with being one of the first, and arguably the definitive "emo" band.

Rites of Spring didn't 'invent' it. They were just one of the first to be recognised to be doing something different. The ability to give an emotional performance on stage was not a rare one, so I'm sure a lot of other bands had the same act going for them. It'd be very naive to be giving Rites of Spring all the credit.
