not the room ID... but you don't see the teleporter just appear in the room, or they mighta done and thought helkat dropped it.. :S (the other ppl of which room I was linked to) lol

You're a bit retrohappy. Hardly anything can be done on the client, it's all just popularised by the use of retros. There's no need for a ":porterlink" command anyway, if he wanted to go to a room he'd just search it and click go.
