it would be better if all deals were done and dusted before the games began, but a lot of deals take a long time to negotiate. he's only saying that because he hasn't had the funds to sign so many players and is probably jealous that other clubs in the premiership are continuing to bring in strong players.

clubs use the opportunity to see how well some players perform at the start of the season. then hope they will continue to do so if theyre signed.
