    Can anyone reccomend any decent free helpdesk software with a live support system?

    Ya, um that one definitly isn't free. If you want free then you pretty much have two options:

    -Crafty Syntax (http://www.craftysyntax.com/)
    -Help Centre Live (http://helpcenterlive.com/)
    ->Integrated w/ osTicket (http://www.osticket.com/)

    Ya, I used to use HCL but I'm not sure what its like anymore... but on the other hand Crafty Syntax is very sturdy...

    Well HelpCenterLive is a good one now its back in development and been worked on

    and theres Eticket.
