That only lists ONE of the prices. I was making the point that there could well be many other prices which are less than £3!

I am not slating your post, as it is your personal view.ClubTropica? I've eared it all now. Personally, I feel that it's just another MMORPG Development that's been quickly brainstormed, then taken in to development on a spur of the moment basis. You may all feel differently opinionated against the way I feel about this MMORPG Development, but that's the entire purpose of a forum right? to debate and discuss. (so I'd respect if Moderators not to delete this post).
The reason why I strongly feel against ClubTropica is that it's nothing original in the context that it'll be a community for multiply users, to socialise within and create perhaps rooms, and purchase furniture to furnish the rooms etc. Yet, the entire purpose of the project is for profits and a source of income, just like Sulake Oy's "Habbo Hotel", another method of taking advantage of venerable pre-teenagers who enjoy communicating with friends over the internet in a false projected environments. When you look in to projects like "Habbo Hotel", you'll tend to notice that it's an addictive game because users tend to feel that they're protected from the real-world in a sense that "I don't need to go out, now I've got Habbo Hotel because they're hundreds of other teenagers to make friends with and play with!". Same scenario with ClubTropica, just promoting to teenagers a falsely projected community based on "Holidays and Vacations" without leaving your door! That's why you tend to see the majority of teenagers in today's society becoming secluded.
Sadly, I've been one of those users who've dwelled on Habbo for sometime, and due to Habbo my social life and education did lack for sometime. However, after overcoming some problems, I managed to grow out of the addiction and fulfil my career and enjoy a "social-life" without having to login to Habbo. I'm not knocking Habbo Hotel, as I still enjoy the community but without the additional needs of having to pay for extra services such as credits, habbo club etc. I understand that those additional services are not mandatory, however you see other users with nicely furnished rooms and you've started a chain reaction. The new user then buys a few credits, thinking that he/she won't require no more! and wala! he/she is addicted to the game, and Sulake's objective has been achieved, they've made a profit and they've made a mascot to continue the trend to other users. (monkey see, monkey do). The other point with the option of purchasing furniture, Habbo state that it's for the upkeep of servers, and local offices. However I'd just like reassure everyone that the profits they receive off users is well over the guided price for the upkeep of servers, but just for wealthy profits. I'm sure it wouldn't touch Sulake's profit if they just perhaps lowered the price of credits by 2%! It would make a large different for users, and no difference to Sulake's upkeep, except the slightly lower profits for they're personal gross profit.
The same scenario applies to the future of ClubTropica's community, the only difference between "Habbo Hotel", and "ClubTropica" is that Habbo Hotel is well established in sixteen or more country's, and that Sulake have achieved they're objectives by far a mile, and can therefore invest in extra developments for forthcoming releases. I believe the revenue for Sulake is more than 4.5million and growing (I'm not exactly sure if it's 4.5 million, I believe it's higher!), even if Sulake was to take a drastic turn and go down hill that I highly doubt, they'd not need to worry as they've got the revenue to keep going! and that the interest from that revenue will grow and that'll cover the costs for the upkeep of Local Offices, Servers, Projects and Staff Wages and other Inventory on the outgoings they must pay for. Sulake at the moment in my eyes are perpetual, and therefore won't need to worry about other competitors. However, on the other hand ClubTropica's have just merely touched the markets service, and no-one knows the outcome of it's community. It may be well prosperous, but just to emphasise something! It's YOU the users who keep these community's going, personally having to pay for additional services IF ClubTropica introduces these premium services such as "credits" perhaps? then I feel it's just another money grabbing community, and that it's ClubTripica's concern to perhaps become a competitor of Sulake! again I can't see this happening as Sulake are reputable, and well established.
It's sad to see that ClubTropica's are using Habbox Forums to advertise there new community, I believe it's rather like trespassing on Sulake's property in a metaphorical way. (even though Habbox isn't operated by Sulake) they're associated with Habbo Hotel as a third party site. Devious as it may seem, ClubTropica's objective is to partly advertise on multiply forums in order to gain publicity, anyone with decent knowledge can see that! It's a recruitment. Personally, I don't think it should be tolerated as any decent new MMORPG Community will gather they're potential members from other sources by freshly advertising, rather than just going to other associated MMORPG Sites, or Fansites in order to get that publicity.
Last but not least, I have been informed by a source that ClubTropica has investors in to the "company", and that you already have "community offices", not only that but I've noticed they've even managed to gather x-sulake staff?. I kind that rather preposterous if it's true, but personally If I was a business man, or entrepreneur and presented with the idea of ClubTropica and doing research on the community and know little about the future of the community then I'd blatantly turn down the offer and invest in something that's more established. It's some ludicrous idea, and to acknowledge that you're going to open three weeks! .. All well, It's not really my duty to comment no more, but I sincerely hope you've done your market research. I can see this community eventually trying to replicate something that we already have, and that's Habbo!
You have actually come across quite mature and can see where some of your views have come from.
But Habbo can't dominate the whole online gaming without any rivals, there are many people who no longer like Habbo such as me, I do not trust them, so any sites like CT I welcome and will have a try at, not that i spend much time on them anymore, it will be good to have a go on.
I do not see the problem with ex-sulake staff working for the, they have the knowledge and the Ideas, they have seen how Habbo runs so they will know what not to do. It will be a positive thing for CT if anything.
just out of curiosity, do you happen to work for Sulake? As i find it very strange how you have registered and the two posts you make is aimed at CT.

i skimmed over what you had to say, some good and valid points.
however, you cannot directly say that they are "advertising" on here, unless andy the thread creator is involved with clubtropica in some way.
some may agree that word of mouth is often the best form of advertisement, as you may have seen theres already nearly 2000 people subscribed to the email update thing, which is a hell of a lot considering the short space of time this thread has been around.
theres no saying that all of those people are from habboxforum. by now world will have spread to a number of people in a variety of ways.
as for your point on sulakes profits etc, so what if they are in it for the money? Sulake overall probably earn a considerable chunk of their income from other companies, brands etc paying to be advertised on the website, as well as other promotions and what not.
If the bosses at Sulake wish to develop further and further, they need to obviously pay for people, software, and other resources in order to do this. the money has to come from somewhere, by now all the investors would be bust if everything habbo offered was free. and nothing had to be paid for.
lets look at some other big, well known companies, should places like McDonals give out free burgers because they only sell them to make a profit?
at the end of the day, like Habbo, like McDonalds, like every other place you can think of, ClubTropica is run as a business, who's purpose is to provide a service, the service(s) provided are irrelevant. Assuming there is going to be a f2p and p2p version, i dont see why you are making such a fuss over it
Oh for gods sake 52 Pages :S

This thread was obviously made for a reason, it's clever marketing, which worked I suppose. People are speaking about it, and already looking forward to it, 500+ posts in a few days says something.

Yeh Jack i am intrested now,the first 30 threads were no one beliving Callie,Although i didnt know if that user was callie i knew callie and disarno were involved then the other 20 is mostly spam realy but it looks more intresting than Habbo at the momment doing the same thing for a few years is very boring,I will maybe more to their depends if i think its good enough ive heard their phone line but i wont be calling it,As i have relised how crappy online games are i pay for Xbox live because i have a year of unlimited play,I play agaist millions of people i doubt this site will hit over 3000 at the momment although i want it to,People have made fansites when they dont even know whats happning a Fansite is ment to have information that intrests people but whats the point when you can just go onto ClubTropica's site?
Ross
I quite like how Club Tropica has got the word about with it being posted on many active forums and sitesI am sure they will advertise properly but If you saw any advert anywhere and the site was closed when you checked would you go back? they will wait until its open i would expect.
If they treat their members/customers with respect in my opinion they are one up on habbo already.
If anything goes wrong maybe they won't ignore them or fob them off with random excuses and perhaps come out with a statement and/or apology. I am on about normal stuff here like bugs that lose stuff etc and not serious things like people gaining access to things they should'nt.
I dont see a problem with the ex sulake staff and believe they will take the site quite far now they have more of their own input instead of being sulake puppets.
Callie - I did'nt want Justine to become HM back then (fansite issues but nothing really important lol) so it must show how good a manager she was to change my opinionAfter watching the things she did for habbo and looking back after she has gone I believe she was by far the best HM. She did lots we did'nt know about as all HM's do but she was always involved with the habbo's which made the staff and users divide almost vanish. She gave the users so much more input and made the official fansites feel needed (Yes jibbi also did this in her short time of the fansite list), Habbo may as well remove official sites now for how much they bother with them.
Disarno/Elux - I was lucky enough to help along side Elux and in my opinion he was among the top 3 mods at habbo uk, He was in my opinion the quickest mod (only becs competed at speed) and did everything by the book.
For habbo to lose him to Club Tropica it must show they mean business.
Sulake might have reason to be a little worried but only time will tell.
Who will be leaving next? Maybe get some of the player support who now answer emails much faster than before. :eusa_clap
I don't know if I will be a Club Tropica user but from the limited information available it looks like its going to be pretty good.
Any competition to habbo in my opinion is great.
