You could have done some research before you baught it... Its going to be a series I beleive so the plot will be revealed more in those, maybe you need to play it again and make sure you speak to the people in modern times to help you understand it more.

i think it's a good plot idea but they should have told you a little further into the game, not at the start.
i don't think it makes a difference to the game apart from the interludes tbh.

Im further into the game and my opinion has been comletely reversed.

It does get better. I've finished it, but I just love getting into a swordfight and running across the rooftops for a final battle.
