Placing Stickies and Posters Behind Hand

i dont know if this belongs here but how do you place stickies or posters in the area behind the hand

I think you press alt and click the hand, if its not ill tell you soon, but i just keep forgetting D'oh!

Take the item from your hand and then whilst still holding it click the small hand icon on the bottom toolbar.
