    Default highlights of 2007/what are you looking forward to next year?

    stupid title, but i couldnt think of a shorter one.
    i think this year has been an amazing year for music, so many different scenes breaking through. so what are your highlights of this year?

    top 5 albums;
    the blackout - we are the dynamite!
    klaxons - myths of the near future
    enter shikari - take to the skies
    simian mobile disco - attack, decay, sustain, release
    the wombats - a guide to love, loss and desperation

    top 5 singles;
    the wombats - let's dance to joy division
    the blackout - the beijing cocktail
    klaxons - it's not over yet
    hadouken! - leap of faith
    late of the pier - bathroom gurgle

    top 5 discoveries;
    late of the pier
    we are the ocean
    hadouken!
    the blackout
    to my boy

    unsigned bands you want to brag about;
    fleeing from finales
    blind kids see ghosts
    we're not superheroes anymore
    we are the ocean

    as for 2008, im personally looking forward to;
    hadouken! - declaration of war < unconfirmed title. everything on it is gonna be new material, apart from maybe liquid lives. i think this is a great move, because im sure if they re-recorded old songs, they'll destroy them. take liquid lives for example, the old version is miles better.

    klaxons - (untitled). myths of the near future is an amazing album. i really want this album to be great, if not better.

    green day - (untitled). american idiot was quite weak i thought. for me, this'll be green day's make or break album.

    kid harpoon - whatever he has to offer. i saw him last year, and loved him. i hoper he breaks through this year.

    panic! at the disco - (untitled) i quite liked 'a fever you cant sweat out' so im expecting good things for next year's album

    there's some others, but i cant remember them.
    anyway, enough about me, what about you?
    and if there's any other top 5's you wanna add, feel free

    this is my highlights of 2007. timbaland and leona lewis dont come anywhere in mine. well, leona lewis might, in the top 5 songs i really hated because everyone played them too much.
    edit; hoosiers i completely forgot about tbh

    Jay-Z and Ghostface Killah have both very recently had new albums out, wonderful stuff. Also Skindred had one last month and they're amazing, so good times yeah. OH and Calabrese also had an album but they're not really a big band so people probably won't know of them.
