Sometimes when i turn my Wii off or when i just leave it on the menu while im doing something the disc slot thing lights up. Is this meant to happen?

yes if you have WiiConnect24 on standby
turn it off by going to wii settings then wiiconnect24 and selecting standby connection then off
i think it means new stuff or pdates, cant remember which

It stays alite all the time you have the console on does it not!

It means you have messages - or so I was told and I always seem to have a message when it flashs, so I think it's that.
