Lol I like how the suggestions aren't exactly small and nice to drive cars...

I guess the KIA Rio is ok enough, but a Golf, Civic etc are like the next step up from a first car.

Get an old Volvo, or an old (99-02) Jetta. Used cars are better than most new cars. I actually wouldn't advise a Kia, because their customer service people SUCK and everyone I talked to said DO NOT BUY A KIA. (My mom was looking at trading the Town&Country in on a 08' Sedona)

That would be a good first car?

Well true, Kia's suck, even in the UK!

I agree with getting a used car, cheap and you know it is road worthy and possibly in good condition for the road (some cars are, some aren't).

I watched this documentary on Kia. This woman bought a Kia Sedona when she was driving on the highway the SLIDING DOOR WOULD OPEN! LOL AND KIA WOULD DENY IT!!

I like the idea of the volvo, I find them to be a pretty smooth, comfortable ride.

The festiva is also a possibility, if I could get my hands on an older one.
    thanks!

(it also turns out that I might be allowed to use my dad's Suzuki SX4 - when he gets it, which would be cool!)
