Ye, you can use myspace, facebook and bebo, you just need to be causious.
You can use MSN, ive been using it for years and ive added people off habbo then removed them now i have like 6 and ive never been hacked.

to avoid getting hacked you may need a better password ( one with numbers capitals and something nobody will guess)
i think that you should probably get a better questions or email. someones probably guessed it then hacked you for a 'joke'.
