lol Its nothing to do with Virgin Media, your Router or firewall. Its Xbox Live Itself, They say everything should be working fine in a couple of days. I havent been able to connect since Christmas Eve, I phoned them up last night complaining and they are sending me a free one month gold subscription. Not 22p lol.
