So a vast majority of the forum know how to swear in a different language? I very much doubt it. It's ever worse when the rule on swearing covers swearing in general, which means swearing in a different language, swearing backwards etc etc. You've just added a new rule which already existed!

All forums have language rules in place. English forums always require you to post in english (unless its a language discussion forum for example). Its not a pointless rule. We cannot moderate however many languages exist on this planet. All the mods, smods and admins are english speakers and it is what language the forum itself is in.

If you want to talk in french - go to a french forum. This is an english forum for english speakers.

No not physical access. We own 3 dedicated servers (4 atm - we are dropping one after the transfer is 100% satisfactory). We also have a company who takes care of our servers (they are called server managers).

You don't seem to understand, it is a pointless rule :rolleyes: Speaking in French, German, Spanish, whatever language IS pointless, therefore comes under the already existing rules:

B1. Don't post for the sake of your post count - It's always nice to have a high post count, it may seem as though people will respect you more with a higher number beside your name, but it doesn't really mean anything on these forums. We respect each of you whether you have 1 post or 1000.

B2. Don't post short or meaningless posts / spam - We don't want replies like "i dono" or "why" or "yeah". We have set the forum so that any message must contain at least 9 characters, do not try to get around this by adding meaningless characters.

B11. Do not make pointless posts - It is not allowed to post any messages that others consider to be meaningless or pointless or not relevant to the discussion.

B13. Do not make off topic posts - Off topic and random posts are not allowed. Your post must be related to a post made earlier in the thread or about the thread itself.



Having another rule just adds more reason for people to think the rules are stupid. It's like posting a rule "no uploading pictures of your friends" when there is already a rule that says "don't post pictures of people without their permission."

Thus, the foreign languages rule is pointless, because posting in another language is pointless therefore it falls into the rule "do no make meaningless / pointless posts."

I find the reputation system so difficult at the moment, I don't see the point in making decent posts for reputation like I used too. In my newer days I used to create guides and get information from the inside of Sulake so I could get reputation as it was quite fun to collect and I was low compared to the average member, and it worked and it grew. However I don't see the point in repping people now as it's hardly going to effect them, and I don't see the point in making useful posts just for rep anymore, as it'll be useless.

You can QFT on this, I wouldn't complain if the reputation system was entirely removed or reset as I now find it pointless, it's that bad it may as well not exist.

What I saw on a vBulletin forum earlier, I don't know if it's a plug-in or comes with vBulletin but it looks decent, it's reasonably similar but you can 'Thank' people for posts, and then it displays the thank-you's in the top right like 'Location, Habbo Name, Rep power etc' - So instead of being registered for ages and things, you just 'Thank' people for useful posts, no comments needed etc, and no rep powers or anything. There would be no negative and just a number like Thank-you's: 33 - It would definitely encourage useful and decent posts. I'd be in favour of that replacing the system, it'd be much more simple and effective. What I really want is the old system back but I understand it won't happen. Can a thank-you system be looked into.

The rep system used to be used to show kudos for good, useful posts. Now it may aswell not exist because it doesn't show you how useful you are and how important you are to the forum. Habbox have taken something with an issue, and caused a bigger issue. Useful posts don't get as rewarded as they used to. No one knows how useful you are only you do, which destroys the whole point of a rep system. It's now a private compliments system.

Habbox's excuse is that there were too many pointless posts. If people have an issue with pointless rep, they'll report it which was alot easier than monitoring the whole system,

I dont see a big problem with positive rep its the pointless negative what causes the probs but you can't really allow one and not the other. As Catzsy said its being looked at so we will just have to wait and see what suprises you get if any lol

what i dont understand about the whole situation is why admins have to be so bothered about it when other forums dont give a ****

thats my only 'query' if you like on the whole matter
