You need 100 reputation points for 1 reputation block - You also need at least 100 posts and 30 positive reputation points before your reputation is activated.

Surely that's a bit extreme?

With the "only being able to rep 5 times a day" it will take a very long time for users like me to start being able to use the rep system.

I don't see how it's really extreme. You just need 30 rep points before your rep is activated. That's like 6 +reps from people with 5 rep power. Or does it mean you have to get repped/rep 30 times? O_o

The only problem I have (and I don't even really care anymore) is the 5 reps a day

The FAQ is wrong, it deffinitely more than 100 rep points per rep block and I agree, the 5 times a day idea is a bit crazy and obviously has not been thought through...

Oh, I misread that, I thought it said you need to be +repped 30 times. Still, with the new rep changes it will still be hard.
