well, when my sister's laptop needed servicing and it had to be sent in, i just knew something was gonna go wrong.

It needed a new hard drive, and i got it back today (5 days) and the n00b fitted it with an advent HD and the laptop is really an ei systems, so now the laptop has like media center and a weird XP skin, double space compared to last time.. and the computer all together think's its now manufactured by advent

i dno tbh, the hard drive is now 100gb compared to 40gb, and it seems more 'modern', and i beleive advent is far better then ei systems, so were see

Your aware the hdd has abouslty no baring on any of that, nether companys make there own hdds, and at best you'll get a bit of branding stuck to em. other than that and hdd's and hdd.
Sounds more like you got your o/s reinstalled with the wrong companys setup disks, so got the wrong set of crapware and branding.
