Wireless headset help

Ok So I wanna speak to my mate's over xbox and I turn it on keeps going to 2 and not letting me speak or hear i turn pad of it goes to 1 then i turn pad on it goes back to 2 :S

1. Turn The Xbox On
2. Power On Hreadset
3. Press And Hold The Connect Butotm On Your Consol
4. then Press And Hold The Connect Button On Your Headset, Hold Until The Green Dot Is Green On the Circle Number One.

Ok if u 2 didnt read I did thst befor But I need pad I turn pad on then pad goes to 1 mic goes to 2.

Are you using Wireless controller aswell?
If so, you need to connect that controller with the connect button, then connect the headset.
