The first known civilization, the Sumerians, rose over eight thousand years ago.
The little that we know of them was left behind on rocks. One of the most interesting and perplexing things they left behind was this:
A perfect despiction of our heliocentric solar system, with the moon included (the Sumerians considered the Moon a planet). Pluto and Charon are even depicted as a tiny pair. We only discovered Pluto in 1930, and in 2005 that it and Charon are a double planet.
The most interesting part of the picture is the twelfth body way out in the distance to the right.
This would be Sedna.
Discovered in 2003, it easily could have been right around the area depicted in the Sumerian star map over eight thousand years ago.
This proves that the first know civilization, the Sumerians, had knowledge that was just as advanced as our current knowledge.

Not certain but maybe they could see them because of clearer skies than now?
I most probably sounds like a right dumbarse.
at least your giving your opinion. It could have been but i doubt they could see that far without a telescope

It's quite possible that they made them up and by happy coincidence this occurred. It's not like they're to scale or anything
i just realised. the picture next to the left man is a sword. looks well crafted and metal crafting wasnt invented back then apparently

That doesn't sound stupid at all, and is a very good possibility. The Sumerians were from what's now Southern Iraq, and even these days they have clear skies.
but yeah, it could be a coincidance. But revolving around the sun wasn't common knowledge and belief untill a century or two ago.
Looks more like an ornamental club or scepter to me, and they did have metalworking - I believe the Sumerians were a power right through the bronze and iron ages.
very interesting but as flyingjesus said its not as if they're to scale or anything, so they could have just made anything up
Well this is obviously concrete evidence that they're more intelligent than we are. They probably invented time machines and shrink rays or something too.
