I went round my friends today and his brother got a PS3, me and him were playing Resistance on co-op (God it was a pain trying to get used to the button layout ) and the graphics looked like really bad on his TV, I was just wondering if having a HDTV but not using the HDMI cable would cause the graphics to look blocky?

I know for a fact the graphics should be better but they weren't and I was just wanting to know if all TVs give the same sort of effect if you're not using HD?

Some flat screen TVs have a blocky effect. It's better to use a HDMI cable but it should still look ok using SCART.

And i use a crappy old sony trinitron for my PS3 and yet it still looks amazing

Hm..I'm worried that when I buy a PS3 it'll look terrible since I have standard rubbish TVs that look like they're like 7 years old
