    You're only allowed clear ones because normal ones can be mistaken for real guns. Normal ones are still for sell, because if you are a member of an re-enactment club or anything like that you are allowed to buy them. This is under the Violent Crime Reduction Act 2006 :]

    by the way it's illegal to have a bb gun in your possession if you are under 16 even though most bb guns are banned.

    also As of 1st October 2007, a new law is in effect in the UK banning, among other things, the online or mail order sales of air guns. Sales must be made face-to-face, although it is likely that unofficial sales of air guns will continue to take place over the internet.

    Its just the typical British hypocracy that black ones can't be sold but white ones can. Surprised theres been no racism out-roar.

    Get a clear one, and paint it black.

    if it was black plastic which was clear it would be fine... it just happens the one he is looking at is white...
