I am pleased to announce that VATSIM-UK will be holding an optional training evening for pilots wishing to take part in the Cross the Pond Event towards the end of March. This training evening will take place on Sunday 16th March (starting at 1930 local time) and will be run by the pilot training team.

Anyone wishing to take part MUST install the Teamspeak software in advance of the night itself. For more information on this please see:

During the evening we will be covering the following major points:

Giving Position Reports
Entry point estimates
NAT track changes
The importance of timing


There will also be time at the end for any questions that pilots may have. I should stress, however, that we will not be running through a full trans-Atlantic flight in real time (!) due to time constraints.

Anyone interested in attending should send an email to me (use the link below) so that I can get an idea of numbers. Please also try to read through the Pilot Briefing which you should have received when you booked your flight (if anyone does not have a copy please drop me an email and I’ll send one on).

This is the first in our series of training nights for more experienced pilots so please try to support it if you are able and feel it would be beneficial for you. We will not be able to accomodate everyone taking part in the event, however, so it is vital that if you wish to attend you drop me an email to book a place.

But his reason/excuse is that, its for the virtual airline he flies for. But seeing the same plane nearly so often, is quite boring.

I saw that yesterday but was just confused at why they would host it on a Sunday so late? As surely, if you takeoff 1930 from LHR for example, its gonna be a good 6 hours or so to get across the pond, and considering many have school/work the next day, I would have thought they would have hosted it on a more convinient day for all.
