I have swapped for one big monitor at the moment and yes tri-mon is possible

You can set up 6 monitors via 1 computer.
Use the latest chipset from Nvidia allows 3 way SLI
So get a gfx with 2 DVI/VGA ports with 3 way sli = 6 monitors..
