Boeing 747-400LCF Dreamlifter History.

Hey Guys

Not that all of you will be interested :S but for the ones that are, I found out some history of the Boeing 747LCF Dreamlifter.

The 747-400 first belonged to China Airlines - B-18272, before it was sold to Boeing for the formation of it to start turning into the Dreamlifter.

Here she is seen at the EVA Air Hangar at Taiwan International, note the white part of the fuselage which will be cut for the transformation.



After some days at Taiwan Intl, she then rolled out on August 17th 2006 looking like this:




What a transformation eh? ;]

registrations N747BC (serial 25879), N780BA (serial 24310), N249BA (serial 24309), and N718BA (serial 27042).

Aircraft are; Air China x1 China Air x2 Malaysia x1
Boeing Commercial Airplanes president Scott Carson jokingly apologized to Joe Sutter designer of the 747 that he was "sorry for what we did to your plane."

As of February 2008, three LCFs are complete and operational, and a fourth is near completion.

Since she made her first flight, she was renamed from 'Boeing 747-400' to 'Boeing 747-400LCF (Large Cargo Freighter) Dreamlifter.'
