im scared now lol, seriously knowing the fact that in 21 years and im still alive the world COULD be destroyd because of astroids lol, seriouslyi wanted to live until i get very old and then die in my sleep, not die Young and a meteor thing hitting me lol especially one weighing that 200 billion tonnes!!!!!!!! i mean the one in 21 years miss's *phew* then in 39 another one comes!!!!!!!!! OMG! if it miss's again will it come back round in 49 or sumtin? lol

If they blow it up, you will have the debris raining down, doing massive damage. You cant destroy atseroids you have to hit it with something big to just knock it off course slightly so it will miss Earth and go hit mars or summin

Judging by the weight and speed of the asteroid, I am fairly certain that the asteroid would just mow down the satellite. Plus the 'if' seems like a really big 'IF' to me... Quite funny he corrected NASA though

it depends what type of astroid it is.. sometimes yes that would work but there is a type of astroid which would just absorb the impact from a nuke like a sponge. Originally Posted by lScottl
