Default Some sites load, some don't! [read!]

    Hey guys,

Well, I've been having this problem for 3 or 4 days now, and I don't know what i've done to suddenly make it happen.

    Like the title suggests,
    some sites load, some don't.

I use firefox, but it's the same in IE.

Examples of sites that load fine, and quickly:
    eBay
    HabboxForum

Examples of sites that don't load at all:
    Facebook
    MySpace
    Google searches

    Any ideas? Anyone?

+rep for all ideas, even if they don't work!
    So, suggest anything!

    Please helppp!

    ;].

Sounds like a cookie problem to me. Check your settings. Try cleaning your computer and running a spy check.

He says it's in both FF and IE. If i'm mistaken please tell me, but i don't believe they share cookies. Could be an ISP issue

What do you mean exactly by 'cleaning'? Cleaning whatt?
Andddddd.... what spy check do you reccommend?

    Thanks!

    EDIT:
+rep. I have used FF and IE, yes. Should I call my ISP (Sky)?

Well you probs know more than me on this

I would try cleaning the disc drive - accessories-system tools - clean disc drive.

Spybot Search and destroy free version - google it.

Blocking cookies can stop you seeing some web-sites but I will leave that subject to Stephen who maybe able to explain more about the ISP issue.

Other than that can you restore it back to when it worked properly?

    - Cleaned disk drive
    - Downloaded, Installed and ran Spybot S&D, it deleted a couple of things that sounded nasty

    But still nothing.
    Should I reboot?

    +rep for 'ctrl + f5' suggestion.

But sadly, it doesn't do a thing.

Yes try rebooting. Have you got a firewall that maybe denying access to these sites?
Asked a friend of mine as well - he said if you have a wireless connection it could be something to do with the settings of the router. Maybe trying rebooting router if you have one and of still no luck ring Sky

    - Rebooted
    No change.

I use the windows firewall, and both IE and FF are in the 'exceptions'.

Also, I am using wireless. But my mum also uses wireless on her laptop, and it works perfectly.

So, because it works perfectly for my mum, and not for me... surely ringing Sky won't help, because the connection is fine?

This is confusing me so much!

    Thanks!
    Anything else I can try?

Is you Mum directly connected to the router? Are you on a portable router?
