With a forum that has hundreds of users - with about half of them not even using Habbo and only about 10/15 Habbos going to each event... Posting information before and after each event (which is pratically everyday) is pointless.

And why should we have to open the announcement forum everyday just to see if there's anything of major importance? If there is something that management needs to tell us we should be able to see it without having to scroll through pointless threads...

We can inform the Habbo public on what we feel they want to know. People need to know about name changes so its not a "WTH WHO IS HE" situation. People like to know how events turned out (and, for the record, its a requirement that staff post an after-announcement, not just custom.) If you want to read something then you can click on the thread.

If its something we as management need you to know (for example, a password exploit or a need for you guys to change your passwords) we would make sure it was visible. Its fairly easy to simply bump a thread. Other information that is for your benefit only you can click to read, such as this, you don't need to do anything, its simply for your information. However since it was up for so short a period I've simply bumped it. It's really that easy. All these complicated fixes are unecessary.

We can do that as well, we found the mandatory thread tool after the last really important announcement. Actually maybe make this one one as well.

Yeah I was being sarcastic about people loving them lol 'cause everyone complained when we had the first poll about playing Habbo or not (or whichever the first one was) but if it's something serious about the servers and possible downtime or stuff like that then it'd be good use of the tool.Of course if you really want to annoy people you could make all threads in Announcements automatically mandatory haha, then people could really complain about events threads.

I personally think that something serious (like the DDOS attack) being moved down because of some little event on a game that about 70% of this community play, and 3% go to the events, is silly.

Can't we make a seperate forum for Habbox event announcments? I'm sick of the good turnouts or "GRET SUCSESS!" Threads.

I know, but that's for a poll, I'm sure people wouldn't mind a CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD FOR SAFETY REASONS mandatory thread.

Heh. Maybe if I'm feeling especially spiteful during some big event (perhaps the Spectacular round two) I'll make it mandatory so EVERY event announcement (like three a day) forces you to read them :eusa_danc I think I'd be skinned alive.

The server slowing down is major news yes but forum members should just check the announcements forum incase they have missed something. Usually if it is of upmost importance i.e. forum member's account safety a thread will keep getting bumped over events announcements etc.

It's only fair event organisers can post what a success their hard work was... I mean they put a lot of effort in to their events like talkshow organisers but lots of effort into their shows. I have to admit I find the name change bit pointless but who are we to choose what is important news or not.

Plus, if we only ever posted "important" stuff i.e. server going down it'd mean that half the time the announcement forum wouldn't be used at all.

If people wanted to go to an event, they'd check it.

You could always make a new catagory called announcements, one for forum, one for habbox, one for events. Although that's just added mess really. I don't there's a way to solve this.

I would but can't see how you could solve this problem, having a special forum for this would be empty most of the time. Event updates kinda keep it alive. If there were two forums, would this not add to a messy announcements catagory (or whatever it's called)?

Exactly - name changes and events aren't the best - or most important for that matter - of announcements, and it's just making the forum more messy.
