You could just color the wall dark, then use the moodlight, and it'll make it black.
Check out the trade rooms in the trading section, they've made one that is all black

Yeah you could also just use black doormats and it would be so much easier.

But the point is to stack colored doormats close enough that all you can see is the outer line.

Come on someone has to be able to do it?

You will win 9 months worth of new HC furni

I do not know how hard it is to do now but if anyone can recreate the black part and post the image here with the room name they will win.

You do not have to do the whole room, just like the height of about 2 presents of blackness.

The requirements are that you can use any color doormats but not black ones. There can not be any visible lines in the stack of doormats. It has to be pure black like the picture. That is the hard part.

I will try to check this forum more often but do not be mad if I lag a little if someone posted a winner.

I will answer anymore questions if you want.

This competition is not really about winning furni but more about having fun and showcasing your understanding of stacking. But if you want to be more motivated I guess I can offer some furni prizes. If the winner wants they can chooses 4 of the new HC furni I have got in the past few months which are:

    Antique Drapery
    Persian Carpet
    X-Ray Divider
    Weird Science Machine
    HC Rollers Set
    Medieval Bookcase
    Grammophon
    Drinks Trolley
    and
    Retro Wall Lamp

If this challenge continues longer and people start to get into it, I might up the prize.

I decided to give up trying to get enough mats myself to do the stack, so took your advice and used your room. The tower I made, has NO white bits showing and uses only white mats. I used every white mat in the room.

I also made sure it was "2 pressies high"

This is close as high as I could do, given that I used all the mats. Hope this does enough to win the prize.
    PS sorry for bump.

You cant make furni black using a mood light. You can make the background black, but not
a solid peice of blackness out of white mats.
