I personally think that waistcoats look slightly stupid. (I know 95% of people will disagree)

Ties looks much better IMO. At my prom I wore; a long sleeved blue-ish shirt and a skinny black tie (no i'm not emo) black trousers and a black jacket. It looked quite good tbh.

Try stores similar to New look (they seem to be bringing WC's back lately) & Topman.
