Default Cheapest external 500gb HD at £58 ?

Is this the cheapest 500gb external hard drive available, and if so, is it worth it?

That's cheap for a 500GB external, but i don't like WD (apart from the raptors ).

How come some are against Western Digital? I've read some of the reviews about them being DOA or breaking after a few days/weeks/months. Any other reasons?

They have slow processors in the hard drive enclosure so file copying can sometimes be painfully slow.
