sitting too close to the tv / computer screen doesn't strain your eyes.

normally, it's when you'r too close the the computer screen/TV or watching it for too long.

i used to get them

My mate is like always on the computer and he had blood shot eyes, he went on holiday for the weekend and came back looking normal. Perhaps you're spending too long on the computer?

I get painful blood shot eyes alot of the time, however it tends to be in the same eye. I had it in the other eye, but after a course of eyedrops for that eye I've not had it since.

My doctor diagnosed me with something called sclertis - had to go to an eye specialist and everything, and if it's not treated I could go blind, but hopefully it will never get that bad.
