Desperate Housewives [major spoilers] Season Finale etc. (?)

As you may or may not know the final episode of desperate housewives has already been shown in the US. I've already watched them now. This season is the shortest with only 17 episodes.
The finale showed in the end that the whole show has moved on 5 years. All loose ends have been tied and we got to see a slight picture into the future 5 years on and believe me things are very different!

Desperate housewives in england doesnt start again till sept 10th due to big brother. About this time is when desperate housewives season 5 starts in the states. The producer of the show says that he will do up to 7 seasons untill its no more.
There is some speculation that maybe it was just showing into the future as a bypass......
Im not sure.

Season five and six will be set five years into the future all the time with the occasional flashback(s) to explain what happened in the five years skipped. Marc Cherry (who created the show) plans to set season seven (the predicted final season) one year before season one (when Mary-Alice was still alive) although that plan isn't yet set in stone.

that's lame doing a flashback season.
i wouldn't mind it if it was done like several years after seasons 5-6 so you could watch all the episodes back on DVD and know what's exactly happened but if you do a flashback a short time after the ending series it's a bit confusing and rather stupid.
