The problem with doing this is that many will simply reply on the forum to view news and the news section on Habbox itself may very well become neglected. This really will defy the whole objective of having a service offered to Habbox site users and may draw less traffic to the site itself.
I also don't feel that it takes much effort to simply click on a News tab to obtain news. Lastly, like --SS-- stated above, if forum users wish to obtain Habbo UK or Habbo International news they can do so by viewing threads created in the Habbo forum category.
Don't bother giving me + or - rep as I simply don't give a dam...?Cheers
Some very good answers here. I think Elliott just feels that Habbo News should have more prominance on the forum. The question we have to ask is how many members visit the site as much as they visit the forum? I don't know the answer to that but others might. When I visit the site there is a link to the forum which is especially useful for those visiting the site for the first time. What about having a reverse link from the forum to the site at the top of the forum. Being a bit techless I am not sure if that is possible but it would mean that the forum advertises the site and vice versa.
Tbh, you're right! I don't look at the bottom of the page either but I just know from other sites that it was there.
I dunno where you'd move it without making the forum look untidy?
To be fair, the news on the front page doesn't get all that much attention, i think having it on the forum, where we KNOW people are active and are likely to read it it would boost the news team really
You can make it so the forum usergroup - News Reporter, can only post/reply which would stop pointless/hurtful comments fullstop. The problem with doing this is that many will simply reply on the forum to view news and the news section on Habbox itself may very well become neglected. I just think that the forum should have this, to get the news read.
To be honest, the UK news and rumours section gets spammed alot and pointless news it posted and when some news is posted it basically turns into a flame war where the thread ends up getting closed plus some people just copy and paste what is on the Habbo website, not giving any extra detail or information.
I think having the news forum would look really good and proffesional and then when you look through the history of it, you see all these details and information filled news stories giving a full explanation of the current happenings and extra dib-ins on how to enter competitions etc etc =) Also in news opinions are given which aren't really given on the Habbo site or in UK News and rumours, well i suppose there is but if there was a news sections the opinions would be well thought out and presented nicely with and fully grammar checked so it's easy to be read by all.
Yes. That would be a phenomenal incentive however, that still doesn't solve the problem of having less traffic directed to Habbox itself and then of course the possibility of having the News section neglected.
Also, I cant see how it will stop 'pointless/hurtful' comments being made because the Habbo UK and International forums will still be open for posting even if an additional section had to be added. News reporters are not forum moderators.
Lastly, many forum members enjoy keeping the Habbo forums up to date with news from the hotels themselves and by implementing something of this nature, it takes away a firm tradition many users have become accustom to for ages now.
On another note, your feedback really is appreciated e5. It's fantastic to see people like you putting effort into making positive changes to Habbox.
