    I know this sounds stupid and obvious, but i don't want anything to go wrong.

    If i go to settings on the dashboard and click 'Remove' account from harddrive (so the account is deleted), would i still be paying for XBL?

    I think so as the credit card is linked to the account, think you have to ring up and ask them to remove it, i need too but can never be bothered

    You have to ring microsoft aswell otherwise they will still charge you.

    Yes, as its linked up to the card with the internet.
    Get onto your billing account and cancel it there otherwise you will still be paying for it.
