It all depends on what time of the year your opening.
Giveaways always work well though.

Did you like they layout HL had, and why?
Yes, it looked nice, was easy to navigate and had a nice web 2.0 feeling to it.

You do know, if you want to get the fansite running, your going to have to put ALOT of effort into it.
