If they got accepted into the English leagues I don't think they'd make it out of League 1.

Celtic and Rangers could make it in the Premier League. They'd struggle at first but they'd work their way up. They both have huge fan bases and would fill the away end and probably even more at all grounds. Teams won't like travelling to Scotland to play them. Give them about 5 years and they'd be challenging for UEFA Cup. You've only got to look at Rangers success in the UEFA Cup to show that hey can beat some big name teams.
