    Default Depressed & Lonely

Is there something wrong with me or what is going on? Is it just a stage?

I keep watching these romantic movies and feel really lonely and want to fall in love with a girl of my dreams, but I feel like I will never find her.

I've watched A walk to remember, Jerry Maguire, several, and I keep getting more and more depressed. I eventually get over it and think of the things I can do in life until then, but I then watch another movie and get depressed for a few days like I usually do. Is this just a stage I'm going through? I'm only 15 but yet I want to find love. It's not sexual hormones, I don't want it for the sex, I really just want true love and to be with someone my entire life. I don't know what I should do. Can anyone tell me what I might be going through or what is wrong if it is something wrong like a stage of depression? Is this what happens during puberty?

well really its still hormones. even if you really dont want sex, its hormones telling you that you want to be with a girl. as other people are sure to say, you're only 15. youre just thinking about it too much. i wouldnt really say its a stage of depression, but it might be part of something else going on in your life. any extended period of little to no romance for people of both genders makes a person a bit anxious. just chillax a bit.

My advice - Stop watching those films

Anyway I never had your problem but I think you should enjoy yourself while your young. Just go out and find a girl, it's not too hard just be yourself and try not to portray yourself as shy. If you use games like 'Habbo' to try and find what you need, I wouldn't bothered as your likely just to be messed around.

What your going through I think is normal, I used to get depressed.. not because I couldn't get a girl it was because I thought my school was against me. But they had good reason to because I was not attending school.. Although at the time it didn't make sense to me at the time and got me down.

I never really noticed about the puberty thing, it just came naturally to me and because I was an early developer I was proud of the changes that were happening to me. Although my lust for girls became alot more apparent.

My advice is not to worry about these things, you are likely to meet someone soon. Just keep trying!

    Interact's got it spot-on.
Just be yourself and never try to mould yourself into what they might want because if they don't like you for you....They really aren't worth the effort

Quite frankly, you're still young. It's normal to feel lonely and want romantic attention, but only in rare cases does a real teenage relationship last long enough for the two to "fall in love". I'm not saying they never happen, because I've been dating my boyfriend for a year and a half, so of course we love each other. But all I'm saying is that you shouldn't try to rush into anything. It probably is just a temporary feeling, but it won't go away until you give those movies a break! :-P

And like Interact said, enjoy your youth :] You don't need a girlfriend to be a happy teenager, despite what society says.

I know how you feel, I was watching Eastenders a few nights ago and when Patrick put 'When a Man loves a Woman' on the record player my heart sunk..........
