I heard someone I know telling it us so I thought I would try to find the full version, and I did. But then I shortened it and told my version which I think is better.

Two girls went on holiday and where sharing a room with eachover, when they got there one of them was really tired from the plane and decided to go to sleep and it was 10pm at night anyway. The other wanted to go to the hotel libary to get some books to read for the next day. So she went down and left her friend to go to sleep. When she finally got to the libary she had realised that she had forgotten her libary card so went back up to get it, she didn't turn the lights on so she wouldn't wake her friend up. She had a rough idea where abouts the card was so went round the room feeling for it and got it. So she went back down to the libary and fell asleep while reading a book. She went back to the hotel in the morning and saw her friend dead on the bed with blood everwhere and on the wall there was some writing, it said "Bet your glad you didn't turn the lights on".

I wrote that myself based on the well known story as I think this one sounds better.
