Default Teen Problem discussion on the forum

While it can help a lot to talk to people your age about problems you have during your teenage years, I seriously think there needs to be something drastically done about certain threads in the Teen Life section.

There are kids discussing the concept of suicide, and other kids who don't understand such matters, and give them hurtful and dangerous replies.

This problem is real as we all know, and talking to professionals is always better than talking to random people we don't know. Many professional psychiatrists and councilors even tell people not to discuss such personal matters on these sort of forums.

I seriously think these threads need to be more closely moderated or simply removed and stopped.

I agree suicide and stuff shouldn't be discussed on the forums as none of us have any idea how to deal with problems like that.

No no, I have no problems, I'm not depressed, but I still think there are loads of teens out there who aren't thinking straight and such comments could have serious effects on their actions.

Anyway, is it possible to become depressed after joining - and you don't think people would discuss it here? Go to the actual section - there's always a thread about someone who's considering it, and loads of careless people typing replies when they have no idea of the possible consequences.

Yeah, if they were that bad they wouldn't want to tell everyone on the internet, especially a habbo forum.
People on here always direct them to teenhelp.org if they get insulted or not.

That's the thing though, if a moderator was to remove a thread with someone asking for help regarding suicide that could upset them just as much as hurtful advice.

I'm not here to prove it, there's clear evidence on the that section. And I know there are indeed people who know what they're on about and direct them to helpful sources, but those posts are drowned by so many posts such as "Don't be so selfish" and "You're just a pathetic emo"

Then stop those kind of threads completely

They feel we could possibly help them. I like reading through people's problems and offer advice. It can sometimes give the reader a sense of security because they know if someone else has the problem, it's not only them who has this problem..

I perfectly agree with you there, but I don't think that advantage outweighs the serious disadantage
